Training Clinics -  Working within Coronavirus Pandemic Guidelines

WRC are following the guidelines issued within the British Horse Society's Statement made on the 2nd June 2020 and, working with the team at Wellington Riding Centre, are now able to offer Training Clinics of 5 riders which, with the coach, follows the latest Covid-19 group/social distancing guidelines..

We ask that all Members, who attend clinics, respect at all times 2 metre distancing from other Members as well as following the guidelines set out by the Riding Centre itself.

We try, in every aspect of our lives, to work within Government & Governing Body guidelines appreciating that these are liable to change at very short notice.   We have agreed to an approach, recommended by the riding centre, which will see two weeks worth of clinics being released at a time.  We appreciate that some Members might find this unhelpful, due to work or family commitments but it is the only way we can move forward safely in the current climate.   As soon as we can offer more, we will.

BRC Flu Vaccinations

BRC has confirmed that the '6th months and 21 days' Rule has been suspended until 30th September 2020.  That means horses can compete providing their vaccination record is otherwise correct and up to date.  In other words, they are reverting to the old Rule with 1st Primary, 2nd Primary , 1st Booster for the time being.  This brings BRC into line with other governing bodies.

However, for the present time, Wellington Riding Equestrian Centre's Flu Vaccination Policy remains mandatory 12 months vaccination to attend WRC Training Clinics.  Obviously, if this changes we will email you all to advise.

  • Do Not unload your horse before presenting your horse's passport to the Wellington's Main Reception Desk.  There is the option to upload your horse's details to your ECPro Account upon registration which would negate the need to present your passport BEFORE each clinic.

Tack Sales - WRC hold two Tack Sales annually which help raise funds for our Annual Charity.  At our AGM in February 2020 our Members chose Newbury Riding for the Disabled.  Like so many events this year, our first Tack Sale scheduled on the 27 March had to be cancelled.  We still hold out hope that the 30 October Tack Sale might go ahead but, like so many things, we will have to monitor the situation and update you when things become clearer.
